EGA: new high-specification server from Holland

September 2nd 2011, Dutch server manufacturer ECOserver launches the new high-end "EGA" server for Datacenters, Virtualization and IP security.

ECOserver EGA
Ad van de Put, Director of ECOserver states "A server is at the heart of the server-room or Datacenter. We see in practice that companies invest a lot in energy efficiency in areas such as Facilities Management, cooling and emergency power, but perhaps pay less attention to the servers themselves. It's important to ask critical questions about every component in all parts of a server. You can almost compare this to the problems of a leaking roof - You can solve the problem by placing buckets, but it is much more efficient to repair the roof. ECOserver's new model EGA brings two worlds together: IT and facilities. ECOserver EGA has been developed in the light of interviews conducted with both existing and potential customers. ECOserver model EGA meets or exceeds all requirements for high reliability, flexible configurations and the highest possible performance whilst consuming as little energy as possible."

Specific properties
ECOserver model EGA comes in three versions, with a blind front panel for internal hard drives, or with single or dual bays for front mounted hard-drives. There is a choice of drives - 5.25-inch devices such as DVD, or quadruple 2.5-inch hot swap drives. Various motherboards like μATX, ATX and EATX can be fitted and because the cooling is optimized ECOserver EGA can be built with dual Intel® Xeon® processors. By using energy-efficient processors, fans and power we create a server with an optimal performance at a minimal energy consumption.
