EHA, 1U 19-inch, 4-in-1 server

“Never seen before!” is a powerful exclamation about this server, often used by clients. Model EHA is a unique sample, offering 4 powerful servers in a 1U housing. Each server may manage one or two hard drives, each server operates independently from the other servers and it is therefore possible to install multiple varying operating systems on one server.

 

The energy consumption of this server is approximately 120 Watts for a total of 4 servers, or else 30 Watts per server. This is realized by applying an industrial supply with a very high output, which provides power for all 4 servers. The ventilators will be tuned to the low development of heat of the processors, with optimal displacement of air, against the lowest energy consumption possible. This low energy consumption is realized by using mobile processors and 2.5 inch hard disks.

 

Each server has a USB connection at the back, for the connection of a keyboard, mouse or USB driver. Besides this, there are a standard VGA connection and two network ports of 1 Gb each. The unit is powered by 230 V AC.

 

Management
Usually a server may be restarted from a distance by a Service processor or a switch mode power supply (PDU). With a 4-in-1 solution it is not possible to switch via a PDU, the motherboard that is applied has no IPMI or other service processor. This is why we developed a module in-house, which makes it possible to reboot one of the servers via a web interface, with password security, if required. Companies that wish to link to their own management system may adapt the software to these wishes.
