EGA, 2U 19-inch server high-end
“This is another way to go!” An exclamation we have regularly heard from customers lately. Many of our customers use servers from well-known leading brands, yet still they have demands like flexible deliveries, neatly arranged product lines or open pricing policy. These are all matters that are important to customers. In 2011 all this resulted in the development of a new server, the EGA model. This server contains all the requirements for virtualization and hosting of heavy applications such as SQL databases. There are various options for DVD, internal disks and hot swappable disks; the combination of a redundant supply and an expansion of up to 7 low profile cards make this a generic server for a variety of applications. The server is ready for the latest XEON processors with 10 cores per processor, two of which will fit into this server.
Energy saving measures
In case the server is supplied as a Virtualization server, for instance for VMware, Hyper-V or XEN we will use Low Power processors from Intel. The purchase price may be a bit higher but these costs will be recovered soon enough, once your energy costs amount to € 0,20 per kWh. The redundant supply of power is the most energy efficient in its class, which also applies to the ventilators that are used. What you do not need will not be supplied and a DVD is therefore optional. We recommend this only when it is to be used regularly.
